Iracambi’s “Cultural Exchange” experience brings together people from different cultures and nationalities through environmental education and community living. International volunteers come to Iracambi to discover the Atlantic Forest, learn about the environment and share their traditions, while local youth have the opportunity to connect with new realities. We take advantage of periods when we host students of several different nationalities who visit local schools to introduce their countries and cultures. Local students reciprocate by introducing Brazil and teaching them a few words of our language. This experience fosters empathy, respect and a sense of global citizenship, reinforcing the idea that caring for the environment also depends on exchanging and sharing knowledge.
