Live this experience intensely Iracambi
Volunteering
For more than 25 years, Iracambi has welcomed over 3,000 volunteers and researchers from across the world. These volunteers have come from more than 70 countries, including Brazil. They arrive with a shared purpose: to make a real difference in the local community. Volunteers take part in a wide range of activities: engaging with schoolchildren during their visits, supporting researchers in the forest, and working alongside community members in tree planting, agroforestry systems and coffee harvesting. Every day provides an opportunity to learn and to create positive change.
My stay here made me realize that, if there is anything even better than being a teacher, it is volunteering at Iracambi!
We’re constantly chasing material things, but what Iracambi taught me is that everything we truly need is a few friends, the amazing food made by the cooks, and Nature itself.
I loved helping with the agroforestry project at Iracambi. The practice of integrating native and fruit-bearing trees into agricultural landscapes is a powerful tool for restoring ecosystems and creating a sustainable future for the community.
I am a Harvard student and came to Brazil for an internship. It was my first time in Latin America, in Brazil and traveling alone. So many exciting firsts! Getting to know Iracambi pushed me out of my comfort zone. I would do it all again.
